Every generation has at least a young kid whose dream becoming an astronaut. Then, basic studies regarding the solar system and its objects should be introduced as early as possible. Since the solar system holds complex organization, its education has to be conducted as engaging as possible, especially when it comes to early learners. To avoid disinterest and dullness caused by the textual complexity which can significantly hamper the study, presenting corresponding tools to make solar system feasible, such as using planet modelers to determine their position and behavior, has been invented and used globally. Therefore, utilizing the proper tools and material to ensure feasibility of solar system for kids is the key to keep the dream alive.
On a mission to elevate the quality of education, Octagon Studio has delivered new solutions in making learning more engaging in line with the surge of augmented reality technology. Introducing solar system to young learners would be way more intriguing with Octagon Studio’s Space 4D+ card through its high-quality 3d animation, mesmerizing depiction of space objects, and informative library. We have come up with notion on how to create engaging learning situation using Space 4D+ set to be used in both class room or at home, making solar system for kids feasible.
1. Revising Vocabulary
This activity works with Space 4D+ set of flashcards and is intended to expand the students’ vocabulary for solar system subject. This activity is intended to acquire significant knowledge of solar system for kids.
Split the class into two teams and have them stand in two separate lines. The teacher then prompts a flashcard and the first student to correctly name the object depicted on the flashcard wins a point for their team. The team with the most point at the end of the session wins the game.
2.Call for Ice Cream
This activity can be applied at home involving several scoops of ice cream on supper. This activity requires at least a set of Space 4D+ card and is beneficial to enhance memory of the children towards the solar system. In addition, it also improves the bond between parents and children stronger.
Invite the kids to have their ice cream after dinner. Before they have their ice cream, they have to answer questions regarding any space objects provided on one of the cards from the deck. And then, let them scan the card using Space 4D+ app to seek the answer. Every correct answer is rewarded by a scoop of sweet ice cream.
3. Create Story
This activity requires a combination of a number of flashcard sets (Octaland, Space 4D+, Animal 4D+) and is intended to spark the students’ creativity and imagination.
Start the activity by splitting the class into two teams and have them stand in a line. The teacher prompts a flashcard and if a student can correctly name the object on the flashcard gets to keep the flashcard.
The teacher then tells the two groups of students to use the acquired flashcards to create a story. E.g. Albert the Astronaut and Jenny the Jockey (Octaland), go for a ride in the Rover (Space 4D+), where they meet an Elephant (Animal 4D+) in Saturn (Space 4D+).
